  1. Clean up any kind of stain in your carpet as soon as you notice it. The longer stains have to set in, the harder they are to get out.
  2. Fill a waterproof plastic bag with ice and lay it on top of the wax stain. Allow the wax to freeze. Make sure the wax stain is not getting wet from leaks or condensation, as moisture will make the stain harder to get out.
  3. Scrape off as much of the wax as you can with a dull knife or other hard flat edge [Source: Stain-removal-101].
  4. Spread a clean terry cloth or brown paper (e.g. a paper bag) over the wax stain.
  5. Run a warm iron over the paper or cloth to heat the wax. The paper should absorb the wax as it melts. Don't let the iron get too hot or it could melt the carpet or burn the paper!
  6. Repeat step number 5 with fresh brown paper or terry cloth until the wax is all gone.
  7. Go over the stained area with a carpet cleaning solution to get rid of the last bits of wax and any stuck on dirt. You can also use rubbing alcohol or dry cleaning fluid.
  8. Sprinkle a little carpet freshener to make your cleaned carpet smell nice [source: MrsClean

Get an old rag that you don't mind losing. Squirt some Goo Gone onto the rag and start dabbing on the lipstick spot. Rub gently without spreading the lipstick out any further. Use another piece of the rag and rub some more. Keep turning the rag when it becomes full of color. Rub down into any fibers that may still be covered with lipstick.

  • 2
Try dry cleaning fluid or lighter fluid if you don't have any Goo Gone. They don't smell as nice, but can serve the purpose. Blot and gently rub using the same techniques.

  • 3
Start cleaning the spot as soon as you notice it. The longer the dye sets on the carpet, the better chance it has to dry and stain the spot permanently.

  • 4
Mix ¼ cup dish soap with a few capfuls of Woolite or another fine fabric cleaner in a gallon of warm water and begin blotting with another clean rag. You may have some residue from the solvents and the soap can lift out the rest of the lipstick.

  • 5
Blot out any residue with a clean wet cloth so that any remaining dye will not settle. Let the soap dry and vacuum the dried

    remove red wine 3 steps

    1. Blot.
Use a clean white cloth to blot up as much of the red wine stain as you can. You'll need to alternate parts of the cloth to always blot using a fresh spot.
    2. Add a little water.Pour a small amount of water onto the red wine stain and continue blotting. The water will help to dilute the red wine letting you blot up the stain more easily. Be sure not to pour too much water at a time. Continue until no more stain can be removed.
    3. Make a baking soda paste.Use a 3-1 ratio of baking soda/water paste on the red wine stain. Put the paste directly on the stain and allow it to dry before vacuuming up the paste.

willards cleaning service carpet cleaning: I had carpet cleaning dream last night: I think i clean too much carpet LOL have you ever had  dream about work www.willardscleaningservices.com

6 easy ways picking professional carpet cleaners

MISTAKE #1: Choosing a carpet cleaner based on equipment alone.

No question, your carpet cleaner needs first-rate equipment but he also needs something else. He needs employees who are skilled at operating that equipment. Many companies own hot-water extractors but very few companies teach their employees how to use them properly. The best way to know that the carpet cleaner's employees have been properly trained is to make sure the cleaner has been certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). Before you choose a carpet cleaner, ask to see written proof of the company's and the technician's IICRC certification.

      .

MISTAKE #2: Choosing a carpet cleaner based on a single telephone call.

Instead, invite the person to your home and ask for a specific written quotation. Then you will know exactly what the carpet cleaner recommends - and you won't be the victim of high pressure tactics when the technician steps into your living room.

MISTAKE #3: Choosing a carpet cleaner without getting comments from his other clients

Any carpet cleaner can say anything about his past jobs and, sadly, some of what he says may not be true. Make sure you ask for references or read comments from current customers so you can depend on the carpet cleaner and his work.

MISTAKE #4: Choosing a carpet cleaner who is not certified by the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification).

If you carpet cleaner is not a close friend, you may not know whether he has the knowledge or experience to clean you carpet well. If you want to be sure you are hiring a competent professional, make sure he is IICRC certified. The carpet cleaner must earn that certification through study, experience and successful completion of formal, written examinations. In effect, cleaners who are certified by the IICRC have earned a college degree in carpet cleaning.

MISTAKE #5: Choosing a carpet cleaner who is not a member of the National Upholstery & Carpet Cleaners Association (NUCCA).

NUCCA is a trade association of carpet cleaners who are dedicated to: (1) honest, ethical business practices (2) staying current on the latest methods for carpet and upholstery care, cleaning and restoration and (3) the highest possible level of customer service. You are making a wise decision when you have your carpets cleaned by a member of the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration)

MISTAKE #6: Choosing a carpet cleaner who doesn't use a truck mounted, hot water extraction systems.

You might expect this from me, since my employees and I use this type of system but there are several good reasons. Portable hot water systems are good, but they aren't as good as truck-mount systems. Truck-mount systems are the Rolls Royces of carpet cleaners. Compared with portable hot water systems, truck-mount systems use hotter water, higher pressure and stronger suction. So all the way around, you get a much better job.

      tips stain removal free www.willardscleaningservices.com

      1. Act fast. The "five second rule" with food can loosely be applied to carpets: the longer you wait, the worse the stain may be--even with clear liquids like water.
      2. Fight small with small. If you have a tendency to break out the big guns with any carpet stain, you actually may want to choose a different weapon. For small stains from things like dirt and food, try simple solutions like club soda or vinegar water.
      3. Use your home arsenal. Ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, lemon juice, WD40, even baking soda are some home remedies that can often work wonders.
      4. Don't forget your tools. Using an old rag can make a stain worse. Using a fabric-friendly carpet cleaning brush can loosen fibers without flattening them.
      5. Don't be afraid to ask. Carpet cleaning companies, contractors, and other home improvement professionals may offer helpful tips for basic stains--all you have to do is ask.
      6. Wool stains: call the pros. Wool fibers are typically more delicate and often require special treatment. Small stains can be tackled by homeowners, but serious stains should be left for a professional carpet cleaning service.
      7. Pet stains: forget the enzymes. Many carpet cleaners, especially "green" cleaners, are enzyme-based, which don't liquify the uric salts found in pet feces. Use a pet carpet cleaner to fight the mess your loved one leaves behind.
      8. Vacuum. A final once-over can finish the job and remove any excess dirt or chemicals. Be sure to wait until your work is completely dry.
      9. Repeat. Sometimes we forget this important step. A stain can take 2-3 removal attempts to completely disappear.
      10. Keep watching. You may have won the battle, but the war isn't over until you confirm the stain doesn't return. If it does, it's time to call the pros.
